MASTER CLASS

Since the foundation of the institute, the leadership of WIUU understood the importance of high quality professionalism and the necessity for students to become great experts in their fields. Master-Class was launched with the purpose of achieving this goal. Master-Class model can be defined as a new innovative model of education and learning which has the goal of raising a student to the level of expert in the field.
This model utilizes information technologies and access to internet information resources to great extent.
Professors, who guide Master-Class, are usually well-known experts in the field and are capable of directing students with their expertise, experience, and knowledge. Master-Class significantly deepens and expands students’ knowledge.

One of the first Master-Classes was conducted with the involvement of UN in Ukraine. Students of WIUU had wide access to tremendous amount of UN information resources and worked to solve projects on the issues of Ukraine’s development utilizing these resources. Furthermore, they also were able to obtain experience in municipal management at the UN Center of Municipal Management and Electronic Information.
To help student understand the importance of helping others by way of utilizing their education and skills, students had an opportunity to work as volunteers of projects of UN in Ukraine. Afterwards, students were welcome to the UN Center of Electronic Information in Ukraine as interns.

The problem of sustainable development in Ukraine became the next important project that students worked at during their Master-Class sessions. Based on students’ and professors’ suggestions after the launching of the Master-Class program, this project included not only WIUU students, but also students in Kyiv and in other regions desiring to participate in it. Counselors of diplomatic missions and representatives of central and local government were invited to join the project. Master-Classes on international business, relationship between US and Ukraine and others also had great success. Another level of Master-Class in sustainable development has started its work under leadership of IMTC-MEI, LLC.
Regional manager of the company, Dr. San T. Regan, has met with WIUU students on the topic of project management and skills and qualities required for business success in Ukraine. Dr. Regan evaluated WIUU’s students’ knowledge as very good and invited them to have internship at IMTC-MEI, LLC. The leadership of the company has been designing an internship program for WIUU students, which is about to start shortly.
