Master
Class was created in order to introduce an innovative educational model “student-expert”
into the learning process; to implement the new interactive form of teaching using
modern informational technologies:
 | to
provide an easier access to the UN information resources for the students of the
higher education institutions of Kyiv and other regions of Ukraine; |
 | to
use UN information resources in educational process and in scientific activity
of educators and students; | | to
provide students with an opportunity to take new forms of internships in the Centre
of Municipal Management (Habitat) (CMM (Habitat)) and in the UN Centre of Electronic
Information in Ukraine (UNCEI in Ukraine) and to work as volunteers in UN Projects
and Programs which take place in Ukraine. | It
was organized on issues of sustainable development as a joint project of Ukrainian-American
Liberal Arts Institute “Wisconsin International University (USA) Ukraine” (WIUU)
and UNCEI in Ukraine and CMM (Habitat).
For the first time
our students had an opportunity to become familiarized with the UN information
resources in the UN Centre of Electronic Information in Ukraine. Two groups
of students (10 and 6 students) took a fundamentally new form of internship: gaining
information resources user skills, study of information. Based
on students’ and teachers’ (internship coordinators) references a Master Class
on issues of sustainable development was established for the students of Kyiv
and other regions of Ukraine. It is a joint project of the UN Center of Electronic
Information in Ukraine and our university. Therefore, we ask Mr. Gardner to support
this project to achieve the best results in the work of Master Class. UN International
Organizations’ experts as well as persons in charge of diplomatic missions, ministries,
Parliament, representatives of central and local government bodies and municipal
authorities will be engaged in the work of Master Class. Master Class sessions
will take place once a month.
Provide
students with an opportunity to access UN information resources. Afford students
an opportunity to work in UN as volunteers and assist them in future career development
in UN. Teach to use new technology systems. Support UN concept of maintenance
of peace around the world.
Our university assumes the following mission
in Ukraine: to make general public aware of UN activity, its mission and programs;
to provide an easier access to the UN information resources for the students.
For
the first time it began with WIUU students’ meeting with Mr. D. Gardner, UNDP
Resident Representative and United Nations Resident Coordinator in Ukraine who
to made the first announcement in Master Class. |
