Orientation Period for New
Students |
At the beginning of each semester an “orientation period”
for new students will be offered. This is to acquaint the students with the rules
and expectations that American faculty have. Such rules and expectations include
minimizing talking without permission in class, missing class, missing exams and
other grading devices, copying homework (which does not result in learning how
to do it), attempting to cheat on controlled exams or helping another student
cheat, and plagiarism. Repeated violation of disciplinary rules will diminish
or eliminate the chance a student has to get financial awards or scholarships.
|
Expectations |
Students and their parents are expected to understand
that at WIUU classes will be conducted in English and with American structure
and organization of classes. Most courses will consist of three semester credit
hours (150 minutes per week for fifteen weeks). Each of these three credit hour
blocks build toward the earning of your Bachelor Degree (approximately 125 credit
hours)and Master Degree (45 credit hours). These courses are designed and structured
in a building block fashion; and while there is some flexibility in the American
curriculum following the design outline is the recommended path to the degree.
It
is the responsibility of the student to be in regular contact with the Academic
Office to gauge progress and to have awareness of the American classes available.
Earning the American Diploma is a process, that entails earning the proper number
of credit hours with an acceptable Bachelor Grade Point average (2.00) and three
or more semesters for Master Degree, and Master Grade Point average (3.00). This
may take four or more years for Bachelor Degree; four years of enrollment does
not equal the American Bachelor Diploma. |
